Budgie – Squawk (2020 Picture Disc on 180g Vinyl)

This is a picture disc edition of Squawk - the second studio album by the heavy metal band Budgie. The album was originally released in September 1972 on Kapp Records, and was certified Gold in 1973. This disc features the album's distinctive cover art by Roger Dean, the go-to artist for the rock scene of the 70's and 80's.

Budgie were a Welsh heavy metal band from Cardiff. They are described by author Garry Sharpe-Young as one of the earliest heavy metal bands and a seminal influence to many acts of that scene, with fast, heavy rock being played as early as 1971. The band has been noted as 'among the heaviest metal of its day'.
